We all have heard of the positive effects oatmeal can have on our skin. It sooths and moisturizes our skin making it shine with healthy glow. Oatmeal is also known as a natural remedy against sunburns.

No wonder that recently oatmeal facial masks have become so popular! They are easy (you can make them yourselves!), they are cheap and they really DO work.

The simplest of those masks includes a mixture of six tablespoons of oatmeal and water (or milk which is more nutritious). Apply the paste to the clean face and leave it sit for a while until it completely dries off. Wash your face with cold water and dry it by tapping with a towel.

As a perfect remedy against dry skin, we suggest using the following facial mask: mix a cup of oatmeal with a smashed banana (bananas have anti-bacterial properties) and then add lukewarm milk. Apply the mixture to your face, leave it for 15-20 minutes and remove it with wet hands. Rinse it off with cold water, apply some moisturizer.

Oatmeal also does wonders for skin prone to acne because it has the amazing ability of absorbing the oils from the skin. Simply applying cooked oatmeal to your skin will remove inflammation and redness from it. To make a facial mask that will treat acne, mix one tablespoon of oatmeal powder, one egg white (it absorbs oils), five almond oil drops and the juice of half a lemon (lemon is great for reducing the dark marks caused by acne). Apply the smooth paste to your face and leave it for at least 20 minutes. Wash down the mask with cold water and moisturize your face.

The list of oatmeal facial masks could go on and on. Among other ingredients used in oatmeal facial masks we could mention honey, baking soda, vinegar, apple, etc.
