Whether your skincare routine is short enough to be carried out in just a couple of minutes or you need to dedicate half an hour to the multiple steps involved in your beauty regimen, there are certain skincare products that are considered to be essentials – products that everyone should be using. Although these steps may be deemed as ‘basics’, this doesn’t mean that you should skimp on quality. I always try to buy the best that I can afford for my skin and, with a recent bonus giving me the chance to splurge, I decided to upgrade my routine with some of the daily basics from the CBGardn Essentials Collection.

Cleansing
Every skincare routine starts with a cleanse. One of the most important pieces of advice dished out about choosing a cleanser is to go with a formula that’s suitable for your skin type. So, while the CB Silk Facial Foaming Purifier certainly sounds lush, I chose the CB Facial Cleanser – dry skin usually prefers non-foaming cleansers! Formulated with gentle cleansing agents derived from coconuts, along with amino acids and jasmine oil, this cleanser leaves my skin feeling ultra-soft. I use it twice a day and love the soothing and calming sensation it leaves behind.
Moisturizing
Again, everybody should be using a moisturizer, no matter your skin type. If, like me, you have dry skin, moisturizing becomes even more important. The CBGardn Essentials Collection offers both a day cream and a night cream. I chose to treat myself to the CB Night Renewing Creme. It has a luscious consistency that showcases skincare science with a blend of traditional hydrating ingredients and various plant stem cells and extracts. I use it nightly and no longer have to deal with dry, flaky patches in the morning. It has given my skin a much smoother and more luminous finish.
Sun Protection
Technically, the CB Multi-Active Moisturizer With SPF 30 falls under the moisturizer category. However, it also offers SPF 30. This is enough protection for this cream to be used instead of a traditional sunscreen during the day. My skin turns red very quickly after sun exposure, so I can confidently say, going by how clear and healthy my skin has been looking this summer, that this moisturizer does its job! Again, skincare science comes into play with a combination of cutting-edge antioxidants that aren’t usually found in regular sunscreen formulas.
Exfoliation
Although exfoliation isn’t done daily, it’s still considered by many to be an essential. I’ve used various types of exfoliators before but I am new to peels, so I was very excited to give the CB Microexfoliant Peel a try. With its short ingredient list, it seemed perfect for my sometimes sensitive skin…and that’s exactly how it performed. I couldn’t believe how bright my skin looked after the first time I used this peel, and I’ve seen those same results after each subsequent use. It leaves my skin feeling unbelievably soft as well, with this lasting for at least a couple of days.
Eye Care
While not everyone uses an eye cream, some people, like myself, can’t live without them! With my eye area often looking puffy and discolored in the morning, I decided to add the CB Eye Serum Concentrate to my skincare routine. This formula is skincare science at its finest. It features everything from a multi-peptide blend to powerful vitamins to antioxidant-rich botanicals. They all come together to leave my eye area immediately looking smoother and firmer.
