While I’m usually willing to splurge on high-end skincare, it’s understandable why many feel a little intimidated by luxury formulas. What happens if you spend all of that money on a product that doesn’t end up doing much for your skin?

To save you from that disappointment, I’ve been trying out luxury products from various brands to see whether or not they’re worth the investment. The brand that I most recently set my sights on was Lavelier – a brand that’s famous for its innovative use of marine botanicals. After browsing through several intriguing collections, I decided to give two products from the Marine Collection a try to learn more about what this luxury brand has to offer.

The Eye Firming Concentrate

Eye Firming Concentrate

I’ve been on the lookout for a new eye cream for a while, so Lavelier’s Eye Firming Concentrate immediately stood out to me. With this skincare product featuring several of the ingredients I was specifically searching for, it seemed like a no-brainer to turn to it for help in tackling the crow’s feet that have been steadily developing around my eyes.

Key Ingredients

Wrinkle Corrector

Studying a product’s ingredient list can tell you so much about it before you’ve even used it, which was why I suspected that I had found a winner with this one. It contains all of the ingredients that you’d want to see in an eye cream, plus so much more.

Caffeine is one. It’s a powerful antioxidant that’s great for reducing the look of puffiness. Vitamin C, in the highly stable and effective form of tetrahexyldecyl ascorbate, can also be found in this formula. It’s joined by vitamins A and E, along with DMAE – a compound that’s revered for smoothing away the look of facial creases.

Finally, let’s talk hydration, something that this eye cream offers plenty of. Coral seaweed extract, which is Lavelier’s signature ingredient, is exceptionally hydrating. It’s combined with squalane, soluble collagen, and glycerin, ensuring skin that feels soft, elastic, and deeply quenched.

Is It Worth Buying?

Intensive Facial Peel

I’ve now been using this skincare product for eight weeks – usually enough time to begin judging how well a product has worked. In the case of this eye cream, I could have given a verdict after just three weeks – the lines around my eyes already looked lighter.

Now, two months in, and they’re barely noticeable. My skin was starting to feel a bit looser around my eyes, but this isn’t a problem anymore, either. My area looks and feels much tighter, and has found the bounce that I thought it had lost for good!

I’ve used several eye creams over the years, but they clearly weren’t capable of preventing those fine lines from forming, even though I’m still relatively young. This one, on the other hand, has not only reduced the visibility of my existing lines, but I haven’t seen any new ones appear either.

The Coral Smooth + Hydrate Neck & Chest Mask

I’m all about using face masks on the regular, and have a pretty spectacular collection of them at home. One mask that I had been lacking, however, was a sheet mask for my décolletage, which is why the Lavelier Coral Smooth + Hydrate Neck & Chest Mask caught my eye.

Key Ingredients

Let’s start by talking about hydrogel, which is what these masks are made from. Hydrogel masks are basically a level up from regular sheet masks. They hold a greater concentration of active ingredients, making them effective at targeting specific visible skincare concerns.

This mask is all about hydration. Although it has a short ingredient list, its formula is clearly geared toward deeply quenching the skin. Sodium hyaluronate, Irish Sea moss powder, and glycerin come together to draw moisture to the skin, which the thick hydrogel layer then pushes in.

Is It Worth Buying?

Although this product may seem to have a high price tag, one of the things that appealed to me was the fact that there are 16 masks in each box: 8 for the neck and 8 for the chest. This immediately adds value, especially considering how well each mask works.

To start with, they were so easy to apply. Hydrogel fits the contours of the body in a much closer way than other sheet mask materials do. Once you remove it, it leaves behind a light layer of serum that can be massaged into the skin for extra hydration.

However, the most important question is…does this mask work? It has definitely made a difference to my décolletage. My skin was starting to look a little creased in this area, but this mask gives it a much plumper and smoother finish. You can see the effects straight away, and these last for a few days.

Final Verdict

My experience with the Lavelier Marine Collection has been nothing but positive. These skincare products do exactly what they promise, which, when it comes to brands that I haven’t used before, instantly earns my trust. Not only would I highly recommend the Lavelier Marine Collection to others, but I’ll soon be treating my skin to even more of Lavelier’s cutting-edge, marine-inspired products.
