Whenever I try to use makeup, whether it be for a gathering or a meeting, it always tends to come off very easily. I tend to do things to my face which makes me forget that I have makeup on in the first place. But I found some useful tips that worked for me — so I decided to share them with you, too.
Don’t just wash: exfoliate. Let us go back to the basics. Dead skin cells tend to build up in our face overtime, so it is best if we exfoliate at least twice a week. By doing so, we can have a clean face each and every time, and we can also avoid makeup from flaking off.
Never buy cheap products. Just like you, I understand that money doesn’t grow in trees. But if you are willing to spend a few bucks on makeup, why not opt for those that are expensive, but deliver quality and promised results?
Always start by applying primer. Doing so will make your makeup last longer. Whether it be a face primer or an eyeshadow primer, this product allows effortless application of your foundation and eyeshadow.
Be choosy on your foundation. This, for me, is the only product that you cannot risk. You can go ahead and buy drugstore lipsticks, eyeshadows, or mascara, but when it comes to foundation, always go for the pricier ones. It holds on longer as compared to the cheap ones, and believe me, you will end up saving more money in the long run.
Go easy on your concealer. Only apply it to your problem spots, and not to your entire face! Concealers are supposed to make you look better and fresher. They hide blemishes, undereye circles, and dark spots. If the concealer you are using doesn’t help you on those aspects, then it’s better if you just drop it.
Don’t forget the lips. If you fear that your lipstick will just wear off easily, then try putting on some foundation on your lips first before the actual lipstick. This will create a base for your lips and will help it stay on longer.
Apply loose powder or setting powder to complete your look. Not only will it help the makeup last longer, it will also give you a sleek and more polished look.
