Do you want flawless looking hair? Ok, ok…we ALL want flawless hair. I’m more than willing to admit that I’ve spent a great deal of my adult life trying anything and everything I can to step up my hair game. Sometimes…it feels like I’m a hamster on the wheel and can’t seem to get off. Do you feel me?

With so many different hair care products, tools and brands it gets hard to tell the difference (if there is any) when trying different things on your hair. I have pretty long, thick hair – I have a LOT of hair to care for on a daily basis.

If you’re anything like me you find some hair care products and tools that seem to get the job done and get comfortable using them. I’m definitely a creature of habit with my hair, something I know a lot of other women tend to fall into as well. But every time the seasons change I get an itch to switch things up with my hair care routine. It’s not always that I’m looking for a massive change but I find that my hair has different needs with the changing weather and usually need different products to accommodate the changes.

This itch usually comes with the shampoo and conditioner I use. Admittedly, I don’t use a LOT of hair care products on a daily basis but I find that the shampoo and conditioner I use makes or breaks the way my hair looks and feels. Now that Chicago (where I live) is starting to FINALLY warm up I’ve been getting that itch to change things so I was excited to try Nubi Hair’s Nourishing & Moisturizing shampoo and conditioner.

The weather has been getting warmer and a lot more humid, two things that don’t do my hair ANY favors. I’ve been feeling like my hair has been dull and drab in appearance and just hasn’t felt as soft as I’d like – signs my hair is needing something that I’m not getting from my current shampoo and conditioner.

Since I needed the change, I couldn’t wait to try these new (to me) shampoo and conditioner products so I tried them out the night I got the package.

Nubi Hair Nourishing & Moisturizing Shampoo and Conditioner

As someone with a LOT of hair to care for I sometimes have a tendency of using a little too much product, particularly with shampoo and conditioner. I really wanted to try the Nubi Hair shampoo and conditioner in their truest form so I resisted the urge to over apply them to my hair.

My first impression of the shampoo was how lightweight the product felt, even on my hand before I put it in my hair. I wasn’t sure if it would be thick enough to really cleanse all my hair but I went in with an open mind.

Much to my surprise, I didn’t need a lot of the shampoo to massage throughout all of my hair. Throughout my years of trying different shampoos and conditioners I usually have to use quite a bit of shampoo to get any coverage with my hair, so it was really exciting to only need a small dollop of shampoo with Nubi Hair’s to get the job done.

Actually, the same thing happened with the conditioner too. This was even MORE surprising because I tend feel like I have to practically dump conditioner on my hair to get any sort of conditioning effect on my hair. Basically what I’m saying is that if you try the Nubi shampoo and conditioner don’t feel like you have to use a TON of product to get the job done.

After using the Nubi Hair shampoo and conditioner a couple times I noticed my hair was feeling a lot smoother, healthier and looked SO much shinier. Things we all want to achieve from the shampoo and conditioning products we use, right?

It’s not too shocking this was my experience, these are the results both products were formulated to create for users. They are called the Nourishing & Moisturizing shampoo and conditioner – it says it right in the name. The great thing about both the shampoo and conditioner is they are formulated to work together and they do so really well. Nubi Hair created their shampoo and conditioner with proteins derived from plants and olive oil so the products are gentle yet effect on the hair when using them.

One of the other benefits I’ve really loved after using Nubi Hair’s shampoo and conditioner is I feel like they have made a big impact on the detangling process.

As a woman with very long hair, I get tangles ALL THE TIME. Sometimes it feels like I’m in the shower for an hour just detangling my hair (it may be close to that amount of time sometimes, too). Because both of these products are SO nourishing and moisturizing they make detangling hair significantly easier. For me, that’s a major win because it’s been saving me a pretty good amount of time (and frustration) when taking a shower and getting those pesky knots out of my hair.

The best news? You don’t have to do any spell or anything crazy in order to use these products to gain the benefits.

1. Simply use apply the shampoo onto wet hair when you’re in the shower and begin massaging it all over your hair.
2. After it’s well massaged, rinse the shampoo out of your hair and then do the same process with the conditioner.
3. I use a wide toothed comb after applying the conditioner to my hair to make sure it’s really all over the hair and it helps with getting any knots out while your hair is wet and full of the conditioner.
4. Then…rinse!

Nubi Hair Sleek Curl Curling Wand

After using Nubi Hair’s shampoo and conditioner I decided to try out another one of their hair care products.

This time I was going to switch things up a bit and try one of their hair tools. I typically wear my hair wavy/curly on a pretty regular basis. My curling wand is my most used hair tool in my collection, but I seem to get frustrated with a lot of the curling wands I’ve tried in the past. Some of them don’t provide the amount or quality of heat my hair needs to really get the look I’m striving for.

Since I was excited about the shampoo and conditioner I thought it was the perfect time to try one of the hair tools to see if I was as excited about it I was I was the products. I opted to try out Nubi Hair’s Sleek Curl curling wand. I’ve been on the hunt for a new curling wand so it was perfect timing.

I went ahead and busted this wand open to use it the day I got the package in the mail. My first impression of the sleek curl was how lightweight it is.

We’ve all used hair styling tools in the past that were way too heavy to be using for an extended period of time – sometimes it’s a workout in itself!  It was nice to feel just how lightweight this curling wand is, mostly since it usually takes me a bit of time to curl my entire head of hair.

Nubi Hair even included a heat protectant glove in the box with the wand. I LOVE that they included this, I’ve spent a fair amount on curling wands in the past and ended up burning my hand more often than I should admit because it didn’t come with a glove. Clipless curling wands are much easier, and less stressful, to use when you have a glove handy and don’t have to worry about burning yourself.

This particular curling wand is ¾” and gradually increases to 1” in the barrel size. I loved the fact that it’s not the same size on the entire barrel because it makes for a much more natural look in my opinion.

In addition to the size of the barrel Nubi Hair created their sleek curl curling wand with a Teflon coating and negative ion technology. The heating technology is what really peeked my interest. There are so many different types of heating technologies these days (it seems that way anyways) and I’m no scientist but I haven’t noticed a huge difference with some of them. Nubi Hair’s negative ion technology is said to help seal the cuticle of the individual strands of hair to set your look, eliminate frizz AND keep your hair more protected from humidity. Those were pretty big statements and I was excited to see if the curling wand lived up to them.

As I began to use the curling wand for the first time, I was pretty impressed at how quickly it heated up. It seemed as though it took less than a minute to get some good heat going on the wand. I loved how fast it was because let’s face it – no one wants to wait around for their hair styling tools to heat up. I sure don’t.

Then I started to actually curl my hair with the wand and again, I was impressed at the result. Because I have thick hair it’s not uncommon for me to need to hold a wand on my hair for a fair amount of time in order to get an actual curl. Sometimes I have to wrap my hair around the wand a couple times to actually gain some traction. But that wasn’t the case with Nubi Hair’s sleek curl. I didn’t need to hold the wand on my hair long at all in order for the curl to set into my hair. Because of this I was able to curl my hair in what felt like no time. I didn’t time myself but trust me, it usually takes me a lot longer to curl my entire head of hair.

Once my entire head was curled and I was finished with it I loved how my hair looked and felt. It was pretty clear the heat technology in Nubi’s sleek curl makes a big difference with use. My hair wasn’t frizzy at all, in fact it was really smooth and sleek AFTER using the heat. Typically you think heat will cause frizz but that’s definitely not the case with this curling wand, great bonus!

Of course, the real test came when I left the house for the day after having styled my hair with the curling wand. The results continued to impress me. The curls lasted ALL DAY LONG and my hair didn’t get frizzy at all throughout the day, even though it rained.

Between the fact that I was able to style my hair with the curling iron in less time AND have curls that lasted all day – I’m officially hooked on the sleek curl curling wand. Who wouldn’t be thought, right?

This has officially become my go to hair styling tool since I got it because I’m obsessed with how easy and effective it is to use. Overall, I’m really impressed with all of the products I’ve had the chance to use from Nubi Hair. As much as I can be skeptical when it comes to trying new hair care products and tools they’ve shown me it’s great to keep an open mind, mostly when it’s a great company with truly great quality products. I’ve already started making a list of a few more Nubi Hair products I want to give a try next.
